Ketamine has gained a lot of attention over the last few years, and is becoming more frequently prescribed for conditions such as refractory depression or pain. It will include a discussion of dosage forms, legal requirements, recommendations, along with a brief review of dosing, dissociative and adverse effects.

Learning Objectives:

  • Determine what different types of dosage forms are available for ketamine
  • Analyze benefits and disadvantages for each ketamine dosage form
  • Examine prescription requirements and suggested best practices for prescribing ketamine
  • Evaluate some of the different uses, dosing and adverse effects for ketamine
