December 2, 2026 - 11:00 am - 1:00 pm PST

This presentation examines clinical communication practices used when discussing food intake and weight‑related topics with individuals from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. It outlines clear methods for obtaining accurate dietary information, using culturally appropriate terminology, and giving nutrition guidance without assumptions about food practices or resource availability. Emphasis is placed on stepping outside of the box, eliminating clinician stereotypical behavior and biases while focusing on practical, clinically relevant language and conversational skills that support extracting precise information when conducting nutrition assessments.
