"Human Detoxification and Depuration - Phase 1, 2, and 3 Pathways and What Makes Them Run"

1.5 General (Total 1.5 CE)

The process of human detoxification is a multi-step system. A clinical understanding of the steps in the detoxification cascade can improve the outcomes when supporting patient detoxification efforts. Being able to assess and support all the pathways of detoxification and elimination can make the difference between a comfortable patient experience and an aggravated symptomatic one. This presentation will discuss the different phases of human detoxification, their cofactors and supports, and the way to support those systems as a patient detoxifies.

“Optimizing the Glymphatic Flush: Advanced Strategies for Environmental Toxin Clearance, Mental Health, and Alzheimer’s Prevention”

1.25 Pharmacology, 0.25 General (Total 1.5 CE)

The glymphatic system represents a paradigm shift in our understanding of neuro-detoxification. This glial-dependent perivascular network acts as the brain’s waste management system, facilitating the exchange of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) with interstitial fluid (ISF) to clear metabolic byproducts and environmental neurotoxins. This presentation moves beyond basic sleep hygiene to explore the clinical and pharmacological optimization of glymphatic flow.

We will examine the role of Aquaporin-4 (AQP4) water channels and the impact of environmental toxicants on neuro-detoxification pathways. Special emphasis will be placed on Pharmacology CE requirements, discussing the mechanisms of dexmedetomidine, midodrine, and dual orexin receptor antagonists (DORAs) in reducing norepinephrine and improving cerebrovascular pulsatility to boost waste clearance. Furthermore, we will review emerging evidence for beta-hydroxybutyrate, targeted anti-inflammatories, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in supporting these pathways. Practitioners will leave with a comprehensive toolkit—from multisensory gamma stimulation to pharmacological interventions—to counter neurodegenerative decline and optimize cognitive performance.

“Precision Mycotoxin Detox; All Molds Are Not the Same”

1.t General (Total 1.5 CE)

When we use the term “mycotoxins”, we’re almost doing the mold-related illness patient a disservice. It conveys that all mycotoxins act the same. This is far from the truth. The fact is that each mycotoxin is morphologically and biosynthetically unique, each one posing its own distinctive threats to the body as well as individualized route of excretion. Do you know which mycotoxins are largely cleared by the kidneys rather than the liver? Do you know which mycotoxin should take priority over another and why? These research-backed, clinically applicable nuances of mold treatment will be addressed, providing you with a Monday morning action plan.

This presentation provides a clinically applicable review of major mycotoxins and mold metabolites relevant to complex chronic illness. Emphasis is placed on the unique biochemical properties, excretion pathways, organ system targets, and immunologic effects of individual toxins. Practitioners will learn how to recognize toxin-specific symptom patterns, prioritize treatment based on toxicologic burden, and apply evidence-informed strategies for metabolic support and elimination. Special attention is given to mycophenolic acid (MPA) as a marker of active mold exposure, and to distinguishing hepatic versus renal clearance priorities in clinical decision-making.

Bio: Dr. Jill Crista is a pioneering naturopathic doctor, best-selling author, devoted educator, and creative innovator. Her superpower is to make complex medical concepts simple and digestible for the average person.

Her passion is to elevate the well-being of the planet by assisting in the healing of her inhabitants. Her continuing education courses support those seeking to elevate their practice tools for a more fulfilling and prosperous practice life.

1.5 General (Total 1.5 CE)

This presentation will provide an in-depth look at how parasites, bacterial overgrowth, and yeast overgrowth may be contributing to a wide range of patient symptoms and chronic health concerns. Attendees will explore the prevalence of these infections in the United States, learn current testing methods for identifying gastrointestinal infections and dysbiosis, and review naturopathic treatment strategies designed to restore balance and improve patient outcomes. The session will also feature real-world case studies demonstrating successful treatment approaches used in clinical practice, followed by an interactive Q&A discussion.

Bio: Dr. Hill’s initial interest in healthcare began in 1990 with studying botanical medicine and Craniosacral therapy. Her love of medicine began with working closely with the extracellular matrix and the still little understood organ of the fascia. She brings the skill of her felt sense together with her studies in Functional Naturopathic Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, and Neural Injection Therapy to help her patients.

Dr. Hill combines her practice and teaching of Craniosacral with Naturopathic Medicine and Neural Therapy to directly treat patients who have Ehlers-Danlos and Hypermobility syndromes, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, and chronic infectious disease including Post-Covid Long Hauler syndrome, ME/CFS and Lyme disease. She also treats chronic pain disorders and other complex chronic illnesses.

Dr. Hill also teaches craniosacral therapy and neural therapy to other medical providers and is a well-received speaker in various specialty medical topics at many of the annual conferences in the medical and naturopathic medical field.
