"Human Detoxification and Depuration - Phase 1, 2, and 3 Pathways and What Makes Them Run"
1.5 General (Total 1.5 CE)
The process of human detoxification is a multi-step system. A clinical understanding of the steps in the detoxification cascade can improve the outcomes when supporting patient detoxification efforts. Being able to assess and support all the pathways of detoxification and elimination can make the difference between a comfortable patient experience and an aggravated symptomatic one. This presentation will discuss the different phases of human detoxification, their cofactors and supports, and the way to support those systems as a patient detoxifies.

In addition to three decades clinical experience, he also was head of the interventional arm of a US-NIH funded human research trial using IV and integrative therapies in cancer patients. He founded Advanced Medical Therapies in Seattle, Washington, a clinic focusing on cancer and chronic diseases and now focuses his time in collaboration with clinics and hospitals in the US and other countries.
Former positions include multiple medical school posts, Professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Medicine at Bastyr University and Chief of IV Services for Bastyr Oncology Research Center.
He is co-author of the Hay House book “Outside the Box Cancer Therapies” with Dr. Mark Stengler, and the Lioncrest Publishing book “Cancer… The Journey from Diagnosis to Empowerment.”. He is also co-author with Dr.’s Osborne and Carter of the IV textbook “A Scientific Reference for Intravenous Nutrient Therapy”.

“Optimizing the Glymphatic Flush: Advanced Strategies for Environmental Toxin Clearance, Mental Health, and Alzheimer’s Prevention”
1.25 Pharmacology, 0.25 General (Total 1.5 CE)
The glymphatic system represents a paradigm shift in our understanding of neuro-detoxification. This glial-dependent perivascular network acts as the brain’s waste management system, facilitating the exchange of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) with interstitial fluid (ISF) to clear metabolic byproducts and environmental neurotoxins. This presentation moves beyond basic sleep hygiene to explore the clinical and pharmacological optimization of glymphatic flow.
We will examine the role of Aquaporin-4 (AQP4) water channels and the impact of environmental toxicants on neuro-detoxification pathways. Special emphasis will be placed on Pharmacology CE requirements, discussing the mechanisms of dexmedetomidine, midodrine, and dual orexin receptor antagonists (DORAs) in reducing norepinephrine and improving cerebrovascular pulsatility to boost waste clearance. Furthermore, we will review emerging evidence for beta-hydroxybutyrate, targeted anti-inflammatories, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in supporting these pathways. Practitioners will leave with a comprehensive toolkit—from multisensory gamma stimulation to pharmacological interventions—to counter neurodegenerative decline and optimize cognitive performance.
Bio: Dr. Millie Lytle, ND, MPH, CNS is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and the 2026 Best Health and Wellness Expert in the USA (Evergreen Awards). “Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Science on Detoxification”
1.25 General, 0.25 Pharmacology (Total 1.5 CE)
Presently, we live in a toxic world with excess amounts that overload our removal systems. Pollution in our air, water, and soil, contaminating our food and beverages, can have a detrimental effect on our bodies. Microplastics, hormone disruptors, and mold in our homes are just a few types of burdens we face as human beings existing in our tainted world. In this lecture, Dr. Virender Sodhi will explore ancient Ayurvedic wisdom, along with Naturopathic modern medicine, to explore the science and clinical application of cellular detoxification, detoxification pathways, dysbiosis, parasitic infections, mold exposure, and complex toxicant loads. Dr. Virender will review an Ayurvedic perspective on how to manage these environmental issues, along with herbs and methods to support our body’s natural detoxification pathways.
Bio: Dr. Virender Sodhi was the first Ayurvedic and Naturopathic physician in the U.S.. He earned a M.D. (Ayurved) degree in 1980 from the Dayanand Ayurvedic Medical College in Jalandhar, India. Dr. Sodhi served as a college professor in India until 1986, when the Indian government selected him to share Ayurveda with Western society as part of a cultural exchange program. Dr. Sodhi finished his fellowship in Integrative Oncology with Dr. Mark Rosenberg in 2012.
After arriving in the United States, Dr. Sodhi enrolled at Bastyr University, a nationally recognized school of natural medicine in Kenmore, WA. He received his N.D. degree from Bastyr in 1988. He was subsequently invited to join the faculty at Bastyr to teach Ayurvedic sciences. Dr. Sodhi is currently a visiting professor at Sonoran University of Health Science in Tempe, AZ, at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy, and at Des Moines University in Iowa.
In addition to educating students at academic institutions, Dr. Sodhi has educated the general public about the benefits of Naturopathic medicine both nationally and internationally. He has been featured on several radio and television programs across the country, including an hour-long talk show titled Ayurveda: Wealth of Health, featured during the summer of 1997 on KEZX, a local radio station in Seattle, Washington.
