"Melatonin’s Role for Healthy Aging & Longevity"
Presenter: Kim Ross, DCN, MS, MBA, CNS, LDN, IFMCP
Original Date: September 29, 2024
Melatonin is found in or produced in almost all tissues and organs of the body. The mitochondria’s unique ability as an antioxidant to produce melatonin based on intracellular needs (endogenous production) and take up melatonin from exogenous sources (food and supplements) makes melatonin a popular compound to research. Melatonin, while often utilized for sleep concerns, is a remarkable, versatile compound that is well-researched for its antioxidant, free radical scavenger, and anti-inflammatory properties.
In this presentation, Dr. Kim Ross will discuss the interplay between melatonin and the mitochondria and how melatonin can aid in healthy aging.
