Reframing Pain: A Psilocybin Perspective

Cullen-Kerney Headshot"Reframing Pain: A Psilocybin Perspective"

Presenter: Georgiana Cullen-Kerney, ND, MAc
Original Date: December 3, 2025

This one-hour webinar explores emerging insights into the use of psilocybin and other psychedelics as tools for transforming the experience of pain. This session examines the neurobiological, psychological, and emotional dimensions of chronic pain and highlights how psilocybin may disrupt maladaptive pain pathways, enhance neuroplasticity, and support a more integrative, compassionate approach to healing.

Bio: Dr. Georgiana Cullen-Kerney, ND, is a naturopathic doctor, adjunct professor of botanical medicine, and licensed psilocybin facilitator. Rather than viewing people as problems to be fixed, she sees each person as whole and innately capable of healing. Her path has always centered on the question of how we can best support that healing across body, mind, and spirit, a journey she approaches with both curiosity and reverence. Over the years, she has cultivated a deep love for plant medicine and integrative approaches to care.

In both her work and teaching, Dr. Cullen-Kerney focuses on how psilocybin and other plant medicines can help shift long-held patterns of suffering, particularly around trauma and pain. She has facilitated individual and group psilocybin sessions and guided patients through the tender process of integration, honoring the emotional and spiritual dimensions of healing alongside the physical.

Her work weaves research, clinical experience, and storytelling, grounded in the belief that healing is not only about reducing symptoms, but about reconnecting to meaning, resilience, and one’s inner wisdom.
