“Insulin Resistance: The Chronic Condition Defining Our Time"

Presenter: Shalinder Sodhi, ND, BAMS
Original Date: May 3, 2026

Insulin resistance is a defining pathology of our time, underlying a staggering array of chronic diseases including metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, PCOS, infertility, cognitive decline, and more. Yet, it often goes undetected until overt dysfunction arises. This lecture equips naturopathic physicians with the tools to recognize, assess, and intervene early in the trajectory of insulin resistance. It integrates updated pathophysiology with pharmacologically active botanical and nutraceutical interventions, and emphasizes the importance of circadian biology, Ayurvedic insight, and psychometabolic resilience. Attendees will leave with clear clinical tools, therapeutic rationales, and reframed perspectives on how to support metabolic recovery through both modern science and traditional healing paradigms.
