Have you ever wondered after a postpartum hemorrhage if you could have prevented it from occurring in the first place? In this workshop, we’ll learn 3rd stage management tools to prevent hemorrhage in patients who are both low- and high-risk for PPH, based on best evidence and midwifery research. We’ll investigate why prenatal education and informed choice about about 3rd stage physiology and management should be a routine part of midwifery care, and why ongoing risk-assessment for risk of PPH both prenatally and during a birth will help you keep blood where it belongs- inside your patient!
