Structure and function play an integral role in successful breastfeeding. In this lecture Dr. Gerbi discusses the most common musculoskeletal issues present in newborns and how they relate to feeding issues. She covers simple evaluation tools that can be implemented into a newborn and well-baby screen to help facilitate breastfeeding success. Dr. Gerbi also discusses options for treatment: what you as a provider can do, how to empower parents, and when to refer.
