Blue Zones are areas in the world where people live long lives and do not get the normal diseases that afflict the majority of people in the world. To date, there have been five Blue Zones identified where people routinely live into their 90’s and in fact have the most centenarians per capita of any place in the world. In this lecture a careful analysis of the diets of these people is discussed in relation to macro and micro nutrients. Dr. Marz has personally traveled in one of these areas and has plans to travel to all five regions in the world. In addition, accessory nutrients (phytonutrients) are discussed as well as other lifestyle factors that promote good health and longevity.
