This seeks to be a cohesive examination of autoimmunity and tick borne infections with a focus on Lyme disease. Lyme disease has a complex symptomology, which means patients often arrive having navigated challenges getting appropriate medical supports. In this review and update we will look at this complex puzzle striving to understand demographic implications in diagnosis of tickborne disorders. In addition to a review of infections, Lyme disease, and their cascade potential in autoimmunity, we will also examine naturopathic interventions through clinical case review, looking especially at pain, hormones, coinfections and Lyme disease and their intersection.
