It Takes Two: Supplement Support for Enhancing Egg and Sperm Quality
Presenter: Sarah Zadek, ND
Original Date: April 11, 2026
This presentation will focus on antioxidants and other supplements specifically used for optimizing egg and sperm quality in patients who are trying to conceive (or are planning to do so in the near future). It will address the physiological areas that antioxidants and supplements target when used to optimize gamete health including mitochondrial function, the reduction of ROS, pro-inflammatory cytokines, advanced glycation end products (AGEs), as well as inducing proper cellular function and cell division via sirtuins and mitochondrial health. We will also discuss how other metabolic and inflammatory disorders affect gamete quality, such as insulin resistance, obesity, endometriosis, fibroids, varicoceles, and autoimmune conditions.
