First we will review and update ourselves on the current American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association (ACC/AHA) lipid management guidelines, and update ourselves on the limitations of statin therapy in the prevention of ASCVD and other relevant heart challenges. We will examine the current evidence for select natural treatments in reducing risk of ASCVD and other chronic heart conditions. Included in this discussion is the current evidence on statin medications and icosapent ethyl. We will finish with an examination on information to date connecting these issues to COVID and long- COVID.
