This presentation focuses on eating disorders and body dysmorphia and how they affect male patients. Eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia, ARFIDS, and binge eating disorder. The mental health aspects of both topics are discussed. Physical pathologies associated with both topics are addressed. Substance abuse and medication abuse are discussed as it pertains to the two topics, specifically discussing anabolic steroids, laxatives, and stimulant medications. Recognizing and managing these conditions in clinical practice is discussed. Special attention is paid to how to recognize eating disorders and body dysmorphia in men, including clinical tools such as questionnaires and screening scales. Clinical cases focused on the two topics are also discussed.
