As Naturopathic Physicians you are the primary care providers for a diverse patient base. This gives us the opportunity to provide treatment for both genders through the various milestones of their lives. Many of these patients are primarily healthy but many will experience acute or long lasting systemic illnesses in their lifetime. The chance of these patients having an acute medical emergency in your office is real. Managing a medical emergency occurring in the primary care setting can be difficult. We need to make critical decisions quickly. You can be confident with these critical decisions when you are prepared. Mitigation of medical emergencies, in your practice, uses the knowledge that you have already obtained. Understand the value of proper preplanning for medical emergencies.
