Infertility is a growing problem in the United States and the world at large. Naturopathic doctors have a big role to play in offering potential solutions, and though lots of research has been done to support the use of acupuncture for fertility, there is a lot that naturopathic medicine can offer. Although not directly researched as a solution for fertility, naturopathic modalities and the use of appropriate methods to discover and treat the root cause can offer a missing link to the solution. There is a missing gap between western treatment for infertility and the “wait and try” process up to the point of reaching for western treatments. During this period, couples could be exploring the root causes for several of the main problems that could be leading to their difficulty conceiving.

All of these root causes are completely treatable via naturopathic medicine with the use of herbs, nutrients, and lifestyle changes. So, as NDs, we are uniquely poised to offer much needed solutions to couples who are having trouble conceiving but are may be not ready for full-blown medical interventions. We are the missing link and in this talk, Dr. Shah covers all the ways in which we might be able to offer support to these couples who desperately need our help.
